Krishna Hari Pushkar
Mr. Krishna Hari Pushkar assumed the Office of the Secretary from September 2022. Prior to this, he was Secretary (Revenue) at Ministry of Finance and Secretary at Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.
In addition to Nepal Rastra Bank, he has been appointed as a member of Board of Directors of National Planning Commission. He is also the chairman of Employees Provident Fund. Previously, he concurrently served as member of Board of Directors of Nepal Electricity Authority, Executive Committee of Nepal Administrative Staff College, Civil Service Hospital, and chaired Deposit and Credit Guarantee Fund.
Mr. Pushkar has worked as a Joint Secretary at Ministry of Home Affairs, Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority, Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration and Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies. He has also held the position of Director General at Department of Foreign Employment and Department of Labour. Mr. Pushkar, as a Joint Secretary in COVID-19 Crisis Management Coordination Centre, contributed to maintain coordination between concerned authorities in order to make preventive and curative actions related to COVID-19 effectual. He has also worked as Chief District Officer and was appointed as Province Secretary at Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law, Madhesh Province. Furthermore, he was Minister (Economic) in Embassy of Nepal, New Delhi and Counselor (Labour) in Republic of Korea during his course of diplomatic services.
Mr. Pushkar holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration and Peace and Conflict Studies. He was a Hubert Humphrey fellow in US and carried out his course in California State University, Sacramento and Michigan State University, East Lansing. He achieved his Master’s degree under DAAD fellowship programme in Otto von Guericke University, Madgeburg, Germany and several other courses in the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland and US among others. His area of expertise includes economic diplomacy, governance, fiscal and revenue administration, financial crime investigation and peace and conflict management. He has been conferred with various medals and awards during his 27 years of civil service.
Mr. Pushkar speaks Nepali, English, German, Bhojpuri, Maithili, Hindi and Urdu. He, along with his wife Mrs. Aabha Shrestha, who is a Joint Secretary at Government of Nepal, have raised two kids, Aavar and Aavan.
