Agreement with the Government of Japan

The Government of Japan has agreed to provide a grant assistance of Japanese Yen 149 Million equivalent to NRs 142 million to the Government of Nepal for the purchase of products and services to be used in the coming Constituent Assembly Election.
The Government of Japan has agreed to provide a grant assistance of Japanese Yen 149 Million equivalent to NRs 142 million to the Government of Nepal for the purchase of products and services to be used in the coming Constituent Assembly Election. The Exchange of Note regarding the Assistance to the Constituent Assembly Election was signed between the Government of Nepal and Government of Japan at the Ministry of Finance, Kathmandu.


The main objective of this project is to support the Election Commission of Nepal to conduct the Constituent Assembly Election, 2013. The following materials will be purchased under the said Japanese Assistance: 70,000 ballot box stickers, 350,000 colored security seals and 35,000 fences. Japan has been supporting the Election Commission Nepal for long time. Japanese support has been instrumental in peace building and development of Nepal.


The Exchange of Notes of this agreement was signed by Mr. Shanta Raj Subedi, Secretary, Ministry of Finance and H.E. Mr. kunio TAKAHASHI, Ambassador of Japan to Nepal on Behalf of their respective Governments.
